ProBEC staff plans
Some of ProBEC's staff will continue to promote energy efficient products and biomass conservation in the region by working in partner organisations. For example, Malawi's current national co-ordinator, Mr Vincent Gondwe, and the M&E officer, Mr Trywell Khonje, will take up positions in MUREA in 2011, and Ms Abo Tacheba will continue to work with BPC Lesedi. Some staff are in the market and their personal profiles can be viewed below. Ms Mantopi Lebofa will continue work in the sector in Lesotho through her organisation, Technologies for Economic Development (TED).

Function in ProBEC: Transforming the market for basic energy appliances in SADC
Programme highlight: Successfully coordinated field tests that confirmed the market potential of one factory-finished rocket stove design in SADC countries.
Future plans: Developing innovative business models to serve BoP energy markets.

Highlight of the programme: Setting-up a semi-industrial stove factory in Mozambique and successfully introducing the stove in the marketplace, establishment of the factory and distribution chain for making the POCA ceramic charcoal stove.
Future plans: Expanding the scope of my work in the energy sector, with special interest for renewable energies. I will be operating under a new think-tank/consultancy firm called SUNergy Ltd., focusing on Renewable Energy, especially, biomass, solar, pico and mini-hydro, biofuels, co-generation and rural electrification.
